2005 EUYSC

The 17th EU Young Scientists Contest will be held in Moscow from 17-24 September 2005.

The Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) is the main sponsor of this event. BMSTU is Russia's oldest technical university and works closely with the Russian Academy of Sciences and Industry.

Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the oldest University of Russia, welcomes Science Youth of Europe - participants of the 17th European Union Contest for Young Researchers inside its walls in September 2005.

The Bauman University, Alma Mater of the Russian school for training engineers, gave the world a big variety of inventors such as the creators of the helicopter and diesel locomotive, aerodynamic tube and passenger jet airplane, automatic transfer line and TV-cathode ray tube; it is out of these walls that mankind stepped into the outer space.

During the Youth Science Festivities the University will celebrate its 175-th anniversary.

Science schools of the Bauman University have a wonderful long-lived tradition of supporting a wide range of creative personalities in science, in arts, in life and encourage a taste to creative self-expression in growing generations. It is symbolic that strong efforts of scientists and teachers of the Bauman University have created the "Step into the Future" Programme, an originator of involving schoolchildren in science research in modern Russia
